MUST SEE: Northern Elites Meet With Igbo Royal Fathers

Following the upsurge of pro-Biafra protest Northern royal fathers meet with Igbo royal fathers in Owerri, Imo state
capital.

A high powered delegation was welcomed by the Governor of the state Rochas Okorocha,
who held a meeting to rub minds on the previous disturbances in the South-East.
The Northern traditional rulers said they believe in the unity of Nigeria and are worried about the agitation for the Biafra state. They said the anxiety should be beheld.
The meeting was attended by the first class traditional rulers of Nigeria comprising the Obi of Onitsha, Emir of Lafia, Emir of Fika, Gbong Gwom Jos among others.
The Igbo royal fathers presented their new chief HRM Eze Eberechi Dick, who doubles as Chairman Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The traditional rulers informed Okorocha that peace has returned to the traditional institution in the South-East.
The Imo state governor in his answer praised the Northern traditional rulers for their interest in the events in the state adding that the Igbos has lost more lives than any other tribe in Nigeria for the peace in Nigeria.

Okorocha said Igbos are hard-working and are found in every part of Nigeria, continuing that the Igbo man doesn’t see himself as a foreigner in any land.
He gave the assurance that the visitors that the agitation is being looked into by the governors and leaders of South-East.
The governor added that killing of Ibos in the Boko Haram crises without compensation, amnesty granted Niger Delta youths without extending same to Igbo youths who submitted their arms etc.
Nigeria is my constituency, having been born and trained in the North, empowered by the South West and being of Igbo parentage,” he said.
Okorocha at the wake of the protests absolved that the Southeast governors and Igbo leaders of any complicity adding that the separatists does not enjoy the support of majority of the Igbo.
Also the governor had stepped up security in the state to stop the pro-Biafra groups from holding the protest in the state.
