Nigeria’s rep Shahin Nouri survives horrifying car crash at the 24H Dubai Auto Race

Two days ago, Shahin Nouri, representing Nigeria, joined other 79 drivers at the on-going 2016 edition of the 24H Dubai car race powered by Hankook. Sadly, the Swiss-born driver crashed out of the race after a BMW from another lane rammed into his £300,000 Lamborghini Huracan.

The news was reported on instagram by his friend, Daddy Freeze of Cool FM who accompanied him to Dubai.
“There goes our beautiful £300,000 car,” Freeze wrote. “A BMW from another category hit one of our drivers at about 6am, just as I was nodding off to sleep in a chair, from the exhaustion of being awake all through the night! We were fourth and we’re going very strong with good hopes of winning, before this rather unfortunate incident.”
In a second post, the OAP shared the before and after photos of the Lamborghini. ” Our wonderful £300,000 #Lamborghini #Huracan before the race started (below) and then right after that horrible crash that totaled it!”

But Nourin’s spirit isn’t daunted by the sad event. “The race is over for us! Unfortunately another car crashed into us and pushed us in the wall,” he updated fans. “This is the risk of all 24h races with so much traffic and bad drivers that do not know how to race.”
“The good part is that our driver, my teammate, is not injured,” he continued. “Thank you all for the support. You are amazing FANS. I shall still race for you later this year.” And he closed off with, “C U in Lasgidi next week.

The race has been hosted every year since 2006, but this is the first time Nigeria competed with the best drivers in the world. Shahin Nouri is married to Tatiana Moussalli Nouri, the daughter of the GMD of Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Cool TV and Wazobia TV.
