Legendary singer Innocent Idibia officially changes his stage name from 2face to ‘2baba’

Iconic singer Innocent Idibia, known by his stage name “2face”, has now chosen to be addressed as ” 2baba”, though all previous credits to his former stage name remain.

Innocent Idibia has been unofficially addressed as ‘2baba’ by adoring fans for quite some time, but henceforth he himself will publicly use the moniker.

“My handle is still same but the name is now ‘Official 2baba’,” he tweeted hours ago.”

On Instagram, he has also changed his handle to reflect the new name.

Other artistes who have gone through similar name changes include rapper and entrepreneur Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs who was previously known as Puff Daddy, Jay Z, who dropped the hyphen in his stage name and Snoop Doggy Dog who became Snoop Dog and then Snoop Lion. Afrobeat legend Fela also changed his name from Fela Ransome-Kuti to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
