HORRO: Pastor sets church member on fire, claims he was instructed by God

Yesterday, a member of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Unity Street in Abule-Egba, Lagos, was reportedly set ablaze by her prophet during service.

According to the vicitim, a woman named Mama Abosede, the prophet claimed that the Holy Spirit had whispered to him that she would not burn if he sets her on fire. Unfortunately she did burn immediately she was set ablaze. Before the other church members could get water, she had been burnt beyond recognition.

The prophet, on the other hand, maintained that he clearly heard a voice instructing him to set a member on fire to prove and confirm that God was in their midst.

“I heard the voice clearly, but I don’t know what happened after we set fire on her. God has been speaking to me since and it has been working, so I wonder why now,” he said.

A few church members have decided to leave the church after the incident for fear of being the prophet’s next victim.

One of the residents in the area disclosed that she had no pity for the victim, adding that she was the one who allowed herself to be deceived by the prophet. “Why did the prophet not try the fire on himself or any of his family member?”  she said
