UPDATES: Zaria Bloody Clash: Shi'ite's Leader's Wife Is Alive - Army

The reported killing of wife of the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky, has been dismissed by the Nigerian army.

The army said the wife, Zeenatudeen, is alive and under protective custody alongside her husband who was said to have shot by troops in the overnight raid of the sect leader residence.
According to Sahara Reporters, this clarification was made this evening, December 14, by the general officer commanding 1 division of the Nigerian army, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade at a press conference.
Adeniyi explained that Zeenatudeen and her husband were rescued in the course of the clash that had so far claimed 100 lives according to reports.
However, the fate of the son of the Shi’ite group is uncertain as at the time of filing this report even as the army had not commented on even if he is death or live. Reports in the media stated earlier that both wife and son of the sect leaders were killed in the bloody clash.
Umar Shehu, the Kaduna state commissioner of police during a media briefing said that the Shi’ite did not sought for police permit before it embark on the protest that eventually led to the deadly clash with troops.
