UPDATES: Rivers State Election: Court To Decide Wike's Fate On Tuesday

The Appeal Court has fixed Tuesday, December 15, to give ruling on the appeal of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state urging the court to set aside the judgment of the gubernatorial poll petition tribunal, Dailypost reports.

The Rivers state governor in a notice of appeal dated November 3, 2015, which was filed by his lawyer, Emmanuel Ukala, a Senior Advocate of Niger, raised twenty six grounds of appeal upon which he sought to set aside the tribunal’s judgment.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside its gubernatorial candidate, Dakuku Peterside, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were joined as respondents.
APC alongside its governorship candidate, had been contesting the declaration of Wike by INEC as the winner of the Rivers state governorship poll on April 11.
