Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has been speaking with the media recently. The 66-year-old talked about his religion, his greatest fear in life and Cristiano Ronaldo’s obsession with the Ballon D’or.
Speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe, the Arsenal manager says his greatest fear in life is looking back at his career and seeing that all he planned to accomplish in life had not fulfilled.

He said: “I’m always afraid of being late and not to be ready, not being able to accomplish all that I planned. My personal relationship with time is scary. To go back in time, to look behind yourself is equally staggering.
“First of all, you’re frightened because there is less to come than the time already spent. If you wallow with that feeling, it’s definitely scary and sometimes you feel guilty.”
Asked about religion, Wenger said reading from a book of prayer is not a pre-match routine any longer, as it was in the early days.
He said: “Unfortunately today, it works less. At the same time, fortunately, it means that my team does not necessarily need God to win.
“The only time possible happiness, it is the present. The past gives regrets. And future uncertainties.
“Man quickly realized this and created the religion. It forgives him what he has done wrong in the past and told him for the future not to worry.”
Wenger also addressed Cristiano Ronaldo’s obsession with the Ballon D’or. He said the Portuguese’s obsession with the accolade could destroy his career.
The Gunners boss refused to say who the better player was between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He said: “He is the best player in the world – with Messi. Messi has a little advantage on assists. But I would go for nobody because it is not my problem at the moment. I’ve seen careers being destroyed because players are too obsessed with individual rewards.
“I can tell you that maybe another day but it encourages selfishness. And it encourages people inside the game to go more for their own gain when others are in a better position.
“You can be No.1 in the world in March and no.250 in May. Sport is always moving.”
Arsenal play Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in a North London derby. In their last match, Bayern produced an attacking masterclass to defeat Arsenal 5 – 1 at the Allianz Arena.
