Reports in Spain indicate that Real Madrid are set to make a staggering £100m bid for Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, with the arrival of Zinedine Zidane following Rafa Benitez’s dismissal earlier this week.
The ten-time European champions have long been linked with the Belgian international, and had several offers turned down last season when he was crownedPFA player of the year after inspiring the Blues to their first league title in five years under former manager Jose Mourinho.
Hazard’s sensational dip in form in the latter half of 2015 notwithstanding, he remains a prime target for the misfiring Los Blancos with Zidane set to make him the cornerstone of the revival at the club, the Daily Star reports.
However, the deal may involve an opposite switch for unsettled world-record signing Gareth Bale, who was left distraught with the departure of Benitez.
The Blues are said to be bracing themselves for the offer.
