BREAKING: Virgin woman marries Jesus Christ and takes lifetime vow of celibacy

A 38-YEAR-OLD virgin has married the love of her life – Jesus Christ.

US high school teacher Jessica Hayes has committed herself to a lifetime of celibacy after tying the knot with the Messiah at a church ceremony in Indiana.

In doing so, she has become one of only 3,000 Catholics in the whole world who are consecrated virgins.

Jessica has vowed to avoid sex for the rest of her life and to dedicate herself to God.

Unlike nuns, she will remain in the community and continue her job as a theology teacher.

She said: “My students asked if they should call me Mrs Hayes when I come back to school next week, and no, I’m still Ms.

“But I am married to Jesus.

“I think that in some sense, we’re all called to be married. It’s just a matter of discerning how.

“So, my marriage is to Christ and someone else’s marriage is to their spouse.”

For her big day, the Fort William woman donned an elegant white gown.

She spent ages mulling over her wedding dress and ensured it was floor-length – to save her blushes during the part of the service that required her to lie prostrate on the church floor in front of her 250 guests, who were mostly strangers.
