Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the House of Representatives, Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Otunba (Barr.) Adewale Moses Osinubi today defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Also, switching his allegiance to the ruling party in the state Thursday morning is the Ogun East Senatorial aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prince Kayode Tejuoso.
The brief welcome reception which was held at the Mission to Rebuild (MITROS) Hall, GRA Ibara, Abeokuta was attended by leaders and elders of the party in the state, especially from the Ogun East Senatorial District.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Ibikunle Amosun welcome the two sons of the state to the winning team, attributing their decision to join the party to the hard work of the party, APC in the just concluded presidential election in the country.
He assured them of equal treatment and then used the medium to call on others who are still outside to come in and join the party to move the state forward.
Governor Amosun however assured the good people of the state that with the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as the next President of Nigeria, the state stand to benefit more from the centre, if he is being re-elected.
He is optimistic that federal presence will be fully felt across the length and breath of the state, noting that, more monumental projects like the Olokola Free Trade zone and the creation of Ijebu State will be revisited.
He assured the people of the state that his administration will embark on the commencement of all proposed projects, once he is re-elected into office under the new APC government both in the state and at the federal level.
The defection issue has become a debate on the social media as many of his supporters claimed that the information of defection was untrue.
In one of the post, it was written, “permit me to use this medium to inform you that there was no truth in the defection rumour of Otunba Wesco. He remains a bonafide member of PDP”.
Speaking with newsmen, ‘Otunba Wesco’, as he is fondly called by his supporters assured the good people and the leaders and elders of the All Progressive Congress, APC of his total support and commitment to ensure that the governor win the April 11, 2015 governorship election.
